A Commitment Ceremony is very similar to a wedding ceremony but is not legally binding. It is a way to make a public affirmation of your love and commitment to each other.
Some couples, due to legal, religious, cultural or other personal reasons are unable to take part in a wedding ceremony but still want to express their love for one another. A Commitment ceremony gives the opportunity to validate the relationship in front of family and friends and reveal your commitment to sharing your lives together.
Some couples, due to legal, religious, cultural or other personal reasons, prefer a Commitment Ceremony. This is not a legal wedding, but a commitment between the couple to share their lives together. It is an expression of how couples feel about each other.
As your celebrant, my approach to a Commitment ceremony is very similar to that of planning a wedding, without the legal requirements such as licences and documentation. The ceremony can be as formal or casual as you wish, and can include vows, exchanging of rings, readings and blessings or any other rituals you want to incorporate.
I take great pride in creating a unique and special ceremony that reflects your relationship and personalities, and have plenty of resources available to help provide you with inspiration.
Please feel free to contact me to answer any questions you may have (I am based in Adelaide). We can arrange an appointment for you to meet me and see if I am the right Naming Ceremony celebrant for you.
